Patrick Slade is an Assistant Professor of Bioengineering at Harvard University. He received his bachelor’s at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed his M.Sc., Ph.D., and postdoctoral studies at Stanford University. He directs the Harvard Slade Lab that combines robotics, biomechanics, and human-centered AI to build intelligent health models and assistive devices. His work explores how to understand the biomechanics of mobility-related challenges and personalize technology to improve people’s independence. His work focuses on solutions that are open-source and low-cost to make care accessible whenever possible.
